Associate, Privacy

Davies is hiring a Privacy lawyer with at least two years of experience to join our Montréal practice.

As a Davies lawyer, you will be a full group participant from day one – involved in a range of privacy work. Your role would include:

  • advising clients on, and assisting clients with, privacy policies and procedures, privacy impact assessments, personal information transfer assessments, data access or rectification requests and more generally ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations;
  • assisting clients with understanding the privacy implications of their activities and projects and providing practical and effective solutions;
  • researching, monitoring and analyzing changes in privacy laws and regulations and industry best practices; and
  • advising clients in regards to cybersecurity incidents, including assisting clients in preparing for such incidents and in incident response.

The role may also include drafting and advising on technology aspects of corporate transactions.

We are looking for a candidate with an excellent academic record and strong communication skills, experience in a similar high-calibre privacy law practice, a commitment to exceeding client expectations and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects. Extensive knowledge of privacy issues, as well as membership in the Québec Bar, are essential.
