About the Position

We are looking for an IT Audio Visual Specialist to join the Service Support team within the Information Technology group in our Montréal office. Reporting to the Director, IT End User Support & Infrastructure Services, the successful applicant must have excellent customer care and communication skills as they will be dealing with both internal clients at Davies and visitors. This individual’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate and moderate meetings utilizing AV technology in all three offices (Montréal, Toronto and New York), ensuring they run smoothly with the highest quality image and sound available.

The standard working hours of this role will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility required as needed.

The key focus of the role is to deliver world-class AV service to the firm and external clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Moderate relevant meetings to ensure that they run seamlessly
  • Ensure all meetings are set up correctly in advance to ensure the best possible user experience
  • Respond to calls and troubleshooting opportunities in a quick, calm manner
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and functioning properly
  • Log and update all queries within the ticket logging system, in line with set procedures
  • Engage in formal and informal knowledge transfer, ensuring that knowledge base articles and documentation are available to the team and kept up to date
  • Refer issues that cannot be resolved immediately to appropriate members of the IT group, as well as engage with required vendors
  • Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of all AV technology used by the firm
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, directly related to the role, as requested by management
  • Act as a key participant in any new AV projects and implementations

Qualifications

  • Diploma of collegial studies in computer science or the equivalent
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Fully bilingual (English and French). *Our Montréal office represents and delivers service to both Québec-based clients and clients who do business in Québec. The incumbent will be required to interact in both French and English, in a professional manner, in oral and written communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several tasks at the same time
  • Customer focused with a desire to exceed expectations
  • Ability to troubleshoot and understand the customers’ requirements in order to deliver the right solution
  • A minimum of three years of technical support experience, preferably in a law firm
  • Process driven, with the ability to focus on the end result
  • Proven ability to provide support, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability/willingness to work overtime if necessary

Experience with the Following Technology

  • Video, audio and web conference systems (e.g. WebEx, MS Teams, Zoom, Blue Jeans, etc.)
  • Video display systems (projectors, LED, LCD, etc.)
  • Cameras, microphones and room speaker systems
  • Remote room control technology (i.e. Crestron)
  • PC/Laptop support (Windows, MS Office skills, screen resolution settings, etc.)
  • Video conference protocols
