Why are you interested in practicing law?
In CEGEP, I took a rhetoric course that I enjoyed with a passion. At the time, I was considering an academic career, but decided that I absolutely had to choose a profession related to rhetoric. So I entered law school with the hope of practicing litigation. I am grateful for the opportunity to practice a profession that allows me to make a living using both my writing skills and my drive.
What qualities do you think make a good lawyer?
Not only do lawyers need to be good listeners, they need to have a flair for identifying their clients’ true interests and motivations. They also need to have the ability to be succinct, be attentive to detail and not be afraid to think outside the box.
What are you looking forward to during your time at Davies?
I am very much looking forward to my first experience in a firm! I am also looking forward to learning about aspects of the practice that you don't learn about in school and getting to know the team better.
