Thomas will apply his technical knowledge to solve complex problems while considering the broader implications of these solutions on clients’ businesses.

He is particularly interested in Davies’ infrastructure practice for the same reason he decided to pursue civil engineering: a desire to contribute to building the world around us.

Why did you choose to work with Davies?

I chose to work at Davies because I appreciate the generalist approach and preference for lean teams. Having worked in other professional environments, I was looking for a firm that valued autonomy, where I felt I could forge my own path and where I felt I could have real responsibility.

Is there a skill you would like to learn?

I would like to learn to play the piano. I took lessons for 10 years but, much to my mother’s chagrin, my only practice was my weekly lesson. Now that I am older, I wish I had applied myself and actually learned to play – sorry mom!

Is there an organization that means a lot to you?

The Shepherds of Good Hope in Ottawa is an organization that means a lot to me. I have been volunteering there since the pandemic and the services that both the shelter and kitchen programs provide in the Ottawa community are invaluable.
